Amidst a broader industry move by telecom operators to phase out third-party online SIM card sales and curb internal competition, China Unicom's Hangzhou-based regional agents are grappling with significantly reduced commissions. Zhang Lei (a pseudonym), the head of Wo Zhilian Communication, a Hangzhou-based agent for China Unicom, revealed that starting from June this year, commissions for online and door-to-door direct sales channels in the Hangzhou region have seen a uniform reduction exceeding 40%.
