The optical communication industry has posted a stellar performance over the first half of the year. Based on Wind data, as of July 29, 24 listed companies within the optical communication industry chain on the A-share market have unveiled their performance forecasts for the first half of the year. Out of these, 18 have projected positive outlooks (including growth and transitions from losses to profits), representing over 70% of the total. This positive trend spans the entire industry chain, from upstream optical fiber and cable, core optical chips, to midstream high-speed optical modules, and downstream optical devices. Leading firms have witnessed substantial surges in net profits, with some successfully turning losses into gains.
Global cloud service providers and AI companies have ramped up their investments in computing power infrastructure, prompting ongoing advancements in high-speed optical communication technology. The industry is currently characterized by a tight supply-demand balance, with a scarcity of high-end products and limited availability of core materials. These factors are collectively contributing to an overall enhancement in the profitability of the industry chain.
