The State Council has unveiled the Action Plan for Carbon Peak under the '15th Five-Year Plan,' outlining a strategy to drive the green and low-carbon transformation of computing infrastructure. The plan emphasizes the need for a coordinated layout of computing facilities alongside renewable energy sources, advocating for direct green power supply. It also calls for the rational configuration of ancillary facilities, such as energy storage and backup power systems, and encourages the primary use of non-fossil energy in newly constructed computing facilities. Furthermore, the plan stresses the importance of enhancing energy conservation and carbon reduction standards. It urges the transformation of facilities that fall short of these standards, the gradual elimination of outdated and inefficient technologies and equipment, and the improvement of energy efficiency levels. The ultimate goal is to expedite the development of green computing infrastructure and foster the construction of zero-carbon computing facilities.
