U.S. infrastructure engineering and construction company MasTec announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire electrical contractor Superior Group for approximately $1.65 billion. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Superior employs about 3,000 people and is one of the largest electrical contractors in the United States, with operations spanning data centers, healthcare, entertainment, and industrial facilities. The acquisition, structured as a cash-and-stock deal, is expected to close in mid-to-late July and will further expand MasTec's infrastructure service capabilities in the data center and mission-critical facilities sectors.
