On Tuesday local time, the Seattle City Council is set to vote on a one-year moratorium on the construction of new data centers. Two months ago, several companies submitted plans to build five large-scale data centers within the city, including major tech firms like Amazon. Currently, one of the staunch supporters of the moratorium is an Amazon employee, who attended a hearing last week alongside other citizens to testify and express support for the proposal.
