On June 8, Amazon signed a multi-billion dollar agreement with Corning to supply fiber optics, optical cables, and connectivity solutions to support Amazon's expansion of its data center infrastructure across the United States. This investment will create 1,000 new high-skilled jobs and hundreds of construction jobs at Corning's North Carolina facility, complementing Amazon's previously announced $10 billion investment in the state last year to expand its cloud computing infrastructure. Since 2010, Amazon has invested over $20 billion in North Carolina, creating more than 26,000 jobs in logistics, cloud infrastructure, and renewable energy.
