At a press conference organized by the State Council Information Office for the 9th Digital China Summit, Wang Yanqing, Director of the Department of Information Technology Development at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, revealed that this year, the ministry is set to launch the Industrial Data Foundation Building Initiative. This initiative will prioritize pilot projects aimed at constructing high-quality industrial datasets. Moving forward, the ministry's efforts will be centered on three main areas:
Firstly, fortifying support and safeguards. This will involve close collaboration with local departments to ensure optimal resource allocation, offer continuous guidance and support, and promptly address any emerging issues.
Secondly, enhancing policy guidance. The ministry will actively promote the release of pertinent policy documents and provide reference guidelines to steer the industry in the right direction.
Thirdly, cultivating a vibrant ecosystem. This will be achieved by accelerating the development of industrial data standards, nurturing the growth of data service enterprises specializing in data consulting, data governance, and data annotation, organizing relevant events, and fostering stronger open-source communities.
Additionally, the summit will feature thematic conferences and inaugurate the 2026 Data Elements Empowering New Industrialization Competition, further underscoring the ministry's commitment to driving innovation and growth in the industrial data sector.
