Google has announced that it will launch a native Chrome browser for ARM64 Linux systems in the second quarter of 2026 (April to June), marking a significant step in its cross-platform support strategy. Previously, Google released ARM-native versions of Chrome for Mac devices with Apple Silicon chips in 2020 and for Windows on ARM devices in 2024, while ARM support for the Linux platform lagged behind. For a long time, ARM64 Linux users have faced inconveniences in browser usage. This update aims to meet the needs of these users, enabling them to enjoy a seamless browsing experience consistent with other platforms. Google also stated that it has collaborated with NVIDIA to ensure Chrome can be easily installed on DGX Spark systems. Meanwhile, users of other ARM64 Linux distributions will be able to automatically obtain the corresponding installation packages from the official download page.
