On March 12, 2026, at the opening ceremony of the Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) in China, Shanghai Instrument & Electrical (Group) Co., Ltd., in partnership with Shanghai Xiphos Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Biren Technology Co., Ltd., and ZTE Corporation, jointly introduced the commercial version of the LightSphere 128, an advanced optical interconnection and switching super node solution. Remarkably, this innovative Chinese-developed solution transitioned from concept validation to commercial deployment in a mere six months, with thousands of cards already in use. Actual tests have demonstrated a substantial enhancement in training performance when utilizing the DeepSeek V3 671B model on an equivalent scale. Specifically, model switching latency has been minimized to the microsecond level, and transmission latency has been reduced by over 90% compared to traditional electrical switching methods. Presently, the super node has been tailored to accommodate the entire spectrum of models from StepFun, as well as mainstream large models such as DeepSeek, Minimax, Kimi, and GLM. This adaptation has effectively curtailed the training and inference durations for large models, offering users a cost-effective and energy-efficient domestically produced computing power solution.
