Tencent Cloud has released a statement addressing security concerns surrounding OpenClaw and Tencent's 'Longxia'. The statement comes in response to a screenshot that went viral on social media, depicting a user who was charged over 200 yuan unexpectedly after installing OpenClaw during a Tencent Cloud public welfare computer setup event. Tencent Cloud clarified that, after verification, the charges exceeding 200 yuan were actually historical fees for model invocations that the user had incurred previously. Tencent Cloud emphasized that while the installation of OpenClaw itself is free of charge, users will be subject to token fees if they invoke large models during its use—a practice that is standard across virtually all Agent tools currently on the market.
