As reported by Bloomberg, Oracle and OpenAI have scrapped their plans to expand the 'Stargate' AI data center campus located in Texas, USA. This decision comes amid prolonged impasses in financing discussions and shifts in OpenAI's project specifications. The campus, which was developed by Crusoe, a prominent U.S. AI data center developer, is now the subject of lease transfer negotiations with Meta. The intended expansion will now be redirected to other data center campuses currently under development. Meanwhile, Oracle and OpenAI's broader initiative to construct an additional 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity remains on track.
