According to reports from media outlets such as Bloomberg, Oracle and OpenAI have canceled plans to expand their flagship artificial intelligence data center in Abilene, Texas, due to prolonged negotiations caused by financing issues and changes in OpenAI's requirements. This move has created an opportunity for Meta, which is considering leasing the expansion site from developer Crusoe. NVIDIA facilitated the discussions between Meta and Crusoe and paid a $150 million deposit to ensure that the expanded data center would use its chip products. Oracle's stock price closed down 1.1% on Friday, NVIDIA fell by about 3%, and AMD dropped by 3.5%.
