Global 5G-A User Base Reaches 70 Million: Huawei and GSMA Launch GigaUplink Network Initiative

On March 2, 374 operators worldwide have completed 5G network deployments, accelerating the commercialization of 5G-A. Currently, the global 5G-A user base has reached 70 million. In China, over 135 mobile phone models support 5G-A networks, with cumulative terminal shipments exceeding 170 million units and network coverage spanning over 330 cities. To address the surging demand for uplink data transmission in the mobile AI era, GSMA, in collaboration with Huawei and industry partners, launched the GigaUplink initiative during MWC, defining core transmission targets of ubiquitous 20Mbps and peak 1Gbps.
