In response to the intensifying situation in the Middle East, Amazon has made the decision to close its distribution center in Abu Dhabi and temporarily cease delivery services across the Middle East region. According to an internal memo, local customers are currently experiencing delays in both deliveries and returns. Earlier, an AWS data center operated by Amazon in the UAE suffered a fire after being struck by an object, leading to disruptions in cloud services and adding to the company's operational challenges. To protect the rights of sellers, Amazon has implemented emergency measures, such as excluding affected orders from the defect rate calculations and enhancing security protocols at FBA warehouses. At present, other AWS availability zones in the UAE and Dubai's e-commerce activities continue to function normally. However, the timeline for a complete resumption of services will hinge on how the situation unfolds.
