Recently, China Telecom, in collaboration with China Satellite Network Group Co., Ltd. (China StarNet), has obtained the green light from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to proceed with commercial trials of Beidou-3 short message public services. Once the service is operational, users will be able to sign up for a trial at local business offices or through the dedicated App, experiencing the benefits of Beidou SMS without the need to switch SIM cards or phone numbers. This innovative service is characterized by its high positioning precision and versatility, supporting communication across various scenarios. It signifies a significant step forward in integrating 'Tiantong + Beidou' satellite-ground communication within China Telecom's space-terrestrial integrated product framework. Looking ahead, China Telecom is set to roll out additional applications and forge partnerships to foster a thriving ecosystem. Moreover, China Unicom has also secured approval to embark on commercial trials for this service, further expanding its reach.
