Come February 2026, the Guangdong Communications Administration will convene a provincial work conference dedicated to the information and communications industry. During this pivotal event, it will underscore the significance of 2026 as the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The administration is set to roll out work plans in alignment with directives from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as well as the provincial party committee, with a focus on constructing an additional 21,000 5G base stations and 26,000 10GPON ports. Furthermore, the conference will delineate ten pivotal tasks, encompassing the coordination of network infrastructure development, the deepening of the synergy between the digital and real economies, and the strategic harnessing of AI opportunities.
