Based on a report from investment bank TD Cowen, Oracle is mulling over the possibility of laying off 20,000 to 30,000 employees. Additionally, the company might offload Cerner, the healthcare software division it acquired in 2022. This strategic move aims to gather funds to tackle the financial hurdles arising from the expansion of artificial intelligence data centers. Earlier, Oracle entered into agreements with entities like OpenAI, with the total investment scale for data centers soaring up to $523 billion. However, several U.S. banks have ceased offering loans for its related projects.
