PingWest, reporting on January 29th, cited finsmes in stating that cloud security platform provider Upwind Security has successfully closed a Series B funding round worth $250 million. This round was spearheaded by Bessemer Venture Partners, with notable contributions from Salesforce Ventures and Picture Capital. Additionally, over a dozen existing investors, such as Greylock, Cyberstarts, and TCV, maintained their support. The cumulative funding for Upwind Security has now soared to $430 million.

Upwind Security offers a cloud-native application protection platform that leverages a 'shift-right' security strategy. This approach facilitates real-time threat detection and automated responses for workloads, containers, and Kubernetes environments across multiple clouds. The fresh infusion of capital will be directed towards enhancing the platform's capabilities in three critical domains: data, AI, and code. Furthermore, it will fuel the company's global business expansion efforts. As a result, Upwind Security's workforce is set to expand from 150 employees to over 300. Among its esteemed clientele are globally recognized enterprises like Siemens, Roku, Wix, Peloton, and Fiverr.
