MIIT: China’s Software Business Revenue Hits 13,977.7 Billion Yuan in First 11 Months, Showing 13.3% Year-on-Year Growth

According to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), from January to November 2025, China’s software business revenue soared to 13,977.7 billion yuan, marking a 13.3% increase year-on-year. The total profit reached 1,695.4 billion yuan, up by 6.6% compared to the same period last year. Software business exports amounted to 56.89 billion US dollars, reflecting an 8.1% year-on-year rise and achieving positive growth for nine consecutive months.
Breaking down the figures by sector, revenue from software products reached 2,950.9 billion yuan, up 11.4% year-on-year. Revenue from information technology services climbed to 9,610.4 billion yuan, representing a 14.6% year-on-year increase. Revenue from information security stood at 200.1 billion yuan, up 6.9% year-on-year. Meanwhile, revenue from embedded system software reached 1,216.2 billion yuan, showing a 9.3% year-on-year growth.
In terms of regional distribution, the software business revenue in the eastern region accounted for 83.4% of the national total. Specifically, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region contributed 25.8%, and the Yangtze River Delta region accounted for 28.5%. Among all regions, Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Shanghai emerged as the top five in terms of software business revenue across the country.
