On December 22 (local time), Alphabet, the parent company of Google, made an official announcement regarding the completion of a definitive agreement. Under this agreement, Alphabet will acquire Intersect, a company specializing in data center and energy infrastructure, for a total consideration of $4.75 billion. This sum encompasses both a cash payment and the assumption of debt. This strategic acquisition is poised to significantly accelerate Alphabet's efforts in building new data centers and power facilities. Moreover, Intersect will maintain its independent operational status post-acquisition.
