Recently, China's Future Internet Technology Infrastructure (FITI), the first national major scientific and technological infrastructure in the field of information and communication in China, passed national acceptance and was officially put into operation. This project, jointly developed by 40 universities including Tsinghua University, represents another significant engineering endeavor in China's research on future internet technologies, following CERNET and CERNET2. FITI has constructed a high-performance backbone network covering 35 cities, supporting the experimental capabilities of 4,096 independent autonomous domains. In 2023, it opened the world's first 1.2T ultra-high-speed next-generation internet backbone link. As a crucial component of the future internet testbed, FITI has driven technological breakthroughs in China's internet architecture scalability and security, providing vital support for future internet technological innovation and industrial incubation.
