On November 20 (local time), Salesforce released a statement announcing that it was conducting an investigation into unusual activities within applications developed by Gainsight, activities that could potentially lead to breaches of customer data. The statement highlighted that Gainsight applications, which are installed and managed independently by customers, might enable unauthorized access to certain Salesforce customer data. As a precautionary measure, Salesforce has temporarily suspended the permissions of all currently active Gainsight apps. Furthermore, the company clarified that there is no evidence to suggest that this incident originated from any vulnerabilities within the Salesforce platform itself.
