AMD and Eviden are set to collaboratively supply the fundamental computing power for Europe’s inaugural exascale supercomputer, which will be sited in France. This supercomputer is designed to leverage cutting-edge AMD EPYC CPUs and AMD Instinct MI430X GPUs, enabling it to attain exascale High-Performance Linpack (HPL) performance every second. The entire project necessitates an investment of 544 million euros, with the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (JU) providing the funding, supported financially by the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) and the Jules Verne Consortium. France, through the Grand Équipement National de Calcul Intensif (GENCI) and the Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives (CEA), is at the forefront of this initiative, with additional participation from the Dutch IT collaboration organization, SURF, and the Greek Research and Technology Network (GRNET).
