Fujian Province has recently unveiled its Action Plan, targeting the widespread adoption of "double gigabit" (5G and gigabit optical network) services by 2027. The plan envisions significantly enhancing network coverage in rural and remote regions, with the objective of achieving a 5G personal user penetration rate exceeding 80%. The comprehensive strategy outlines 12 pivotal tasks across five core areas: expanding 5G network capacity to 43 base stations per 10,000 individuals, accelerating optical network development to ensure 80% of ports support 10G-PON or higher, establishing a comprehensive data center infrastructure with a computing power of 9 EFLOPS, fostering deep integration between 5G and industrial control systems, and bolstering communication technology innovation and application empowerment. Furthermore, the plan emphasizes digital transformation in social governance, enhancing life service experiences, smart ocean initiatives, and the low-altitude economy, aiming to simultaneously elevate both social governance efficiency and the quality of life services.
