Since the Trump administration, TSMC has developed a keen interest in the US market, driven by tariff threats. Historically, Taiwan has maintained a cautious approach to technology transfers, but this stance has gradually softened in recent years. According to industry sources, TSMC is now preparing to construct a 2-nanometer production line at its P3 fab in Arizona, which is currently under construction. Production at this facility is anticipated to commence as early as 2026, approximately one year after the start of production in Taiwan.
