Throughout the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the Yangtze River Delta region emerged as the top destination for high-value invention patents, tallying 685,000 such patents, which constitute 31.8% of the national total. This achievement places the region ahead of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Liang Xinxin, Director of the Strategic Planning Department at the National Intellectual Property Administration, emphasized that these high-value invention patents have significantly bolstered the innovative progress of these key areas.
