In a collaborative effort, Huang Wei from the Suzhou Institute of Nanotech and Nano-Bionics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zou Yonggang's team from Changchun University of Science and Technology, and Song Qinghua's team from Tsinghua University's Shenzhen International Graduate School have introduced a groundbreaking approach. By leveraging the dual Jones matrix of distinct polarization bases and employing single-layer single-atom metasurfaces, they have successfully expanded the number of independent phase channels to six. This innovative strategy markedly enhances the holographic display capabilities of metasurfaces and boosts information capacity through precise manipulation of light waves.
