During the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple revealed that macOS 26 Tahoe will mark the final milestone for Macs equipped with Intel processors, with the full transition to Apple Silicon-powered devices commencing with macOS 27. To facilitate a seamless shift, Apple has pledged to offer up to three years of security updates for select Intel Mac models, encompassing the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, the 2020 13-inch Intel MacBook Pro, the 2020 iMac, and the 2019 Mac Pro. Furthermore, Apple has already unveiled a beta preview of macOS 26 Tahoe to developers.
