Foreign media outlets have reported that the United States government has suspended the sale of product and technology licenses to China's Commercial Aircraft Corporation (COMAC) for the development of the C919 aircraft by certain American companies. The C919 is a large passenger aircraft independently developed by China. Despite being researched and produced locally, its components are sourced globally, including the engine, which employs the LEAP-1C engine, a joint production of GE Aerospace from the United States and the Safran Group of France. This decision could potentially hinder the ability of Chinese companies to further develop the C919 passenger aircraft. The US Department of Commerce has yet to issue an official response to this news.
