With over 21 years of extensive experience and profound industry insight garnered from her tenure at TSMC, Han brings a wealth of expertise to Samsung. This strategic appointment aims to bolster Samsung's efforts in bridging the gap with TSMC and strengthening its competitive edge in the global chip foundry market. Additionally, Samsung has announced a significant investment of $37 billion in Texas, USA, with $17 billion earmarked for the construction of new chip manufacturing facilities, which are anticipated to commence operations by the end of next year.
