Statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on May 30th reveal that from January to April this year, the value-added output of electronic information manufacturing enterprises exceeding a certain size surged by 11.3% year-on-year. This growth rate outpaced that of the industrial sector by 4.9 percentage points during the same period and exceeded that of high-tech manufacturing by 1.5 percentage points. In April alone, the industry's value-added output increased by 10.8% year-on-year.
With regard to key product outputs, from January to April, the production of microcomputer equipment amounted to 105 million units, marking a 4.7% year-on-year increase. Conversely, mobile phone production declined by 6.8% year-on-year, totaling 454 million units. In contrast, IC production soared to 150.9 billion units, representing a 5.4% year-on-year growth.
