The U.S. Department of Energy has unveiled plans to introduce a cutting-edge supercomputer dubbed "Doudna" in 2026, harnessing advanced technologies from NVIDIA and Dell. This formidable machine, named in honor of Nobel laureate Jennifer Doudna, a pivotal figure in the discovery of CRISPR gene editing technology, will be stationed at the prestigious Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California. Equipped with NVIDIA's latest "Vera Rubin" chips and housed within Dell's innovative liquid-cooled servers, "Doudna" will serve an extensive community of 11,000 researchers.
