The U.S. Department of Commerce is poised to release its findings from the "232 Investigation" on semiconductor tariffs, which could potentially be implemented. In response, TSMC, the semiconductor manufacturing giant, has issued a strongly worded letter to the U.S. government, cautioning that the imposition of import tariffs on chips would adversely affect its investment plan in Arizona, USA. TSMC has had a presence in the United States since 1998, and since 2020, it has embarked on a massive $165 billion wafer factory initiative in Arizona.
