Apple generates substantial revenue annually from in-app purchases within the App Store, with the US market being the primary contributor. However, following the legal dispute between EPIC and Apple, EPIC emerged victorious, prompting the court to mandate that Apple allow developers to guide users towards external payment links. This ruling will preclude Apple from collecting a commission on such transactions. Previously, developers were obligated to pay a commission of up to 30% for leveraging Apple's in-app purchase system. To counteract this shift, Apple is contemplating adjusting its commission rates in an effort to maintain developer loyalty.
