Bloomberg reports that Democratic U.S. senators urged the Trump administration on Monday to reconsider a newly struck AI chip agreement with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The senators expressed apprehension that expanding AI chip sales to the Middle East could potentially jeopardize national security. In response, NVIDIA stated that limiting the global dissemination of American technology would prove counterproductive. This deal, brokered during Trump's visit to the Middle East, grants Gulf nations the permission to acquire advanced semiconductor chips.
