NXP Semiconductors has announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Kurt Sievers, intends to retire by the end of the year. The presidency has already been transitioned to Rafael Sotomayor, who will officially assume the role of CEO and President on October 28. Currently serving as the General Manager of the Secure Connected Edge business, Sotomayor is based in San Jose, California. NXP underscores that Sievers' decision to step down is entirely personal and unconnected to the company's strategic direction or financial performance. Financial reports indicate that NXP's revenue for the first quarter of 2025 stood at $2.84 billion, marking a 9% decrease from the previous year. The company forecasts second-quarter revenue to range between $2.8 billion and $3 billion, reflecting a year-over-year decline of approximately 7%.
