Intel's 2024 financial report revealed a significant decline in revenue, causing share prices to plummet by a staggering 60%. In response, the company has undertaken a substantial downsizing of its global workforce, with a total of 23,000 job cuts. Notably, 16,000 of these layoffs occurred in 2024 alone. Adding to this, the Folsom campus in California has announced plans to lay off an additional 58 employees, bringing the total number of layoffs at this location to over a thousand. To further reduce costs, Intel aims to save an additional $10 billion in 2025, which includes the sale of real estate assets in Folsom.
