China has recently been granted approval by the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) to extend its qualifications for testing and certification of electricity meters in accordance with OIML standards. This achievement marks a significant milestone, enabling China to issue "one test, one certificate, globally recognized" credentials, and positioning it as the second country in the world to attain this status under the OIML-CS framework. Concurrently, the Shanghai Institute of Metrology and Testing Technology and the Zhejiang Academy of Quality Sciences have been designated as official laboratories for OIML electricity meter testing. This development is poised to streamline export processes for domestically produced electricity meters, enhance overall efficiency, and effectively bolster the advancement of the industry.
