This Thursday, South Korean semiconductor giant SK Hynix unveiled its financial report, highlighting a surge in profitability fueled by the thriving artificial intelligence sector. Its HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) chip sales performed robustly, marking a new high in quarterly earnings. For the fourth quarter ending December 31, SK Hynix reported revenues of approximately RMB 100.183 billion, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 75%. Operating profit soared over 20 times year-on-year, reaching approximately RMB 41.067 billion, and notably surpassing Samsung Electronics for the first time. HBM chips contributed 40% to the company's total DRAM revenue, with projections indicating sales growth exceeding 100% by 2025. In response to market demands, SK Hynix intends to boost the supply of HBM3E and embark on the development of HBM4.
