TSMC's Fab 18, a state-of-the-art wafer fabrication facility within the Southern Taiwan Science Park, which specializes in the production of 3-nanometer and 5-nanometer advanced processes, will fully resume operations on the 23rd following an earthquake-induced shutdown. The facility, boasting a high seismic resilience, is anticipated to return to normal production with minimal disruption, estimating no more than 30,000 wafers affected. In contrast, Fab 14, which handles mature processes, sustained significant damage, with approximately half of its machines requiring emergency repairs. The resumption date for Fab 14 remains uncertain, and the number of scrapped wafers has surpassed 30,000.
