WeChat Pay has quietly extended its support to Apple Pay for overseas transactions, though the exact activation process remains somewhat unclear. Some users have reported needing to link a non-mainland mobile phone number and complete passport verification, whereas others claim that passport verification alone suffices. At present, this functionality is limited to VISA and Mastercard credit cards, with AMEX and UnionPay cards not yet compatible. Transactions under ¥200 incur no fees, whereas those exceeding this amount are subject to a 3% charge.
