UnionPay International, the Indonesian Payment System Association, Ant International, and the Bank of China Hong Kong (BOCHK) Jakarta Branch jointly announced in Shanghai their partnership to advance cross-border QR code interoperability, guided by the central banks of China and Indonesia. This initiative will bidirectionally open up QR code acceptance networks, vastly improving the cross-border payment experience for citizens of both countries. The collaboration aims to foster fintech integration, encourage innovation, and strengthen international cooperation.
