The Japanese wafer dicing machine giant, DISCO, anticipates a 50% surge in operating profit, reaching a record-breaking 110 billion yen in the first three quarters of this fiscal year. This uptick is attributed to the burgeoning demand for AI and the depreciation of the yen. Furthermore, consolidated revenue is expected to climb by 30%, surpassing the 270 billion yen mark. Notably, DISCO's unconsolidated shipments in the third quarter of 2024 amounted to 90.8 billion yen, marking a 37.1% year-on-year increase and setting a new record. According to the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ), sales of Japanese semiconductor equipment are projected to soar 20%, hitting a record high of 4 trillion yen in 2024.
