On January 16, the three major A-share indexes collectively closed in positive territory, with the Shanghai Composite Index rising 0.28%, the Shenzhen Component Index gaining 0.41%, and the ChiNext Index advancing 0.66%. The CPO (Chiplet Packaging and Other Advanced Packaging) concept continued to gain momentum, as Tianfu Communication reached its daily limit and Zhongji Xuchuang surged over 8%. The precious metals and retail sectors also shone brightly, with Laiyifen hitting its daily limit and Shengda Resources climbing more than 7%. Conversely, the semiconductor, liquor, and computer hardware sectors underperformed, with Cambrian Innovations dropping over 14%, Inspur Information declining more than 2%, and Kweichow Moutai slipping over 1%.
