The spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) has issued a statement in response to the Netherlands' implementation of stricter export controls on certain semiconductor manufacturing equipment and software. China has taken note of the announcement made by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expresses deep concern over this development. The spokesperson underscored that, despite the highly globalized nature of the semiconductor industry, some countries have recently misused export controls and overgeneralized the concept of national security, posing a significant threat to the stability of the global semiconductor industry chain and supply chain. China firmly opposes this approach and urges the Netherlands, as a member of the World Trade Organization, to uphold international economic and trade rules, respect the overall situation of economic and trade cooperation between China and the Netherlands, adhere to market principles and the spirit of contract, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises from all countries, and maintain the stability of the global semiconductor industry chain and supply chain.
