In response to the oversaturated market and a four-month consecutive decline in NAND flash prices, SK Hynix has announced plans to decrease its NAND flash production by 10% in the first half of this year. This move follows similar production cuts by Micron, with Samsung and Japan's Kioxia also expected to adjust their output levels. The price of general-purpose NAND flash has plummeted, dropping from $4.90 in August 2022 to the current $2.08, amid waning demand for smartphones and laptops. Meanwhile, while enterprise-grade SSD prices have remained relatively stable, the long-term outlook for the sector remains uncertain.
