On January 15, prominent analyst Kuo Ming-chi disclosed that NVIDIA has reshaped its product portfolio through the unveiling of its latest Blackwell architecture roadmap. Notably, the 200 series now features a dual-chip design leveraging CoWoS-L manufacturing, whereas the 300 series offers greater versatility, accommodating both dual-chip (CoWoS-L) and single-chip (CoWoS-S) configurations. This strategic shift has fueled market speculation regarding a reduction in NVIDIA's CoWoS-S capacity. However, upon analysis, it is anticipated that NVIDIA's demand for CoWoS-S will undergo a notable decline over the next year or so. Commencing from the first quarter of this year, NVIDIA will redirect its focus towards the 200 series and scale back the supply of the H series (which employs CoWoS-S), thereby further diminishing the demand for CoWoS-S, while CoWoS-L demand intensifies. This transformation in the product roadmap will differentially impact NVIDIA's performance and that of its supply chain partners. Nonetheless, NVIDIA clarifies that the decrease in CoWoS-S is primarily driven by alterations in its product strategy, rather than a downturn in market demand. Furthermore, this shift aligns seamlessly with TSMC's strategic vision of positioning CoWoS-L technology as the preeminent solution.
