On October 28, Goldman Sachs released its latest research report, indicating that the market prospects for DRAM (Dynamic Random-Access Memory) and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) will remain robust through 2027. According to TrendForce, fueled by growing server demand and restricted supply expansion, DRAM prices are anticipated to continue their upward trajectory until the first half of 2028. Despite sluggish demand in the consumer electronics sector, the market is expected to sustain a tight supply-demand equilibrium, with long-term agreement (LTA) coverage likely to reach between 60% and 70%. The comprehensive average selling price (ASP) of HBM is forecast to surge by 122% year-on-year in 2027, hitting $3.7 per Gb. This price hike is projected to propel global HBM market revenue to grow by over 230% year-on-year, surpassing the $200 billion mark. Goldman Sachs reaffirms its "Buy" recommendation for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, setting 12-month target prices at KRW 500,000 and KRW 3.5 million, respectively. Additionally, it maintains a target price of KRW 380,000 for Samsung Electronics' preferred shares.
