The quantum technology innovation materials development platform project, jointly proposed by six companies—Toppan Holdings, Aisin, Asahi Kasei, SoftBank, AGC, and DIC—has been selected by Japan's New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). Scheduled for implementation from fiscal years 2026 to 2028, the project aims to integrate quantum computing with artificial intelligence and machine learning to explore applications in next-generation batteries, optical functional materials, and superconducting materials. The goal is to enhance the efficiency and predictive accuracy of materials research and development, while validating the practical application value of the technology through experimental feedback.
