The U.S. stock market commenced trading with a positive note, as the three major indices—Nasdaq, S&P 500, and Dow Jones Industrial Average—opened higher collectively. The Nasdaq index climbed by 0.45%, the S&P 500 index saw a 0.3% increase, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up by 0.04%.

Among individual stocks, SK Hynix stood out with a surge of over 2%, buoyed by anticipation surrounding its Q3 results, which are slated for release after the market closes. There are whispers in the market that the company is poised to unveil an additional shareholder return plan, amounting to between 50 trillion and 60 trillion Korean won.

Meanwhile, Broadcom's stock price jumped nearly 3%, following the news that Anthropic has finalized a hefty $63 billion financing deal, which includes the purchase of Broadcom chips.

On the flip side, HSBC Holdings experienced a more than 6% decline, despite reporting a 32% year-on-year rise in its Q3 pre-tax profit to $9.6 billion. The figure, however, fell short of market expectations.
